Veterans Day Program

Each year the students of Genesis Classical Academy are privileged to be able to participate with Winnebago American Legion Post 82 in presenting a Veterans Day program to the public.

Our aim is to educate our students to appreciate the sacrifices that have been made by our veterans and their families in protecting the freedoms we hold dear, and to instill a sense of patriotism, civic pride, and respect for our Constitution and our country.

The video at the right shows our students interviewing area WW2 veterans for the 2022 program.

Operation Christmas Child

At Christmastime students collect and box toys, clothing, personal hygiene items, and school supplies to be sent to underprivileged children throughout the world through Operation Christmas Child.  The recipients of the boxes not only receive this gift, but the opportunity to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ – and our students receive the opportunity to share in the many blessings that we enjoy.

Talent Show and Food Shelf Drive

Each year Genesis Classical Academy students hold a Talent Show.  This is a community-building event, and is by the students, for the students and not open to the public.  Students in Grades 4 and older are eligible to demonstrate a talent, but the entire school attends the show.

A wide variety of talents have been demonstrated by the students over the years, including vocal and instrumental numbers, humorous skits, videos of dirtbike and snowmobile racing, magic illusions, original artwork, and much more.

Students vote for a “People’s Choice Award” and the staff selects the winner of the “Award of Merit.” In order to be able to vote, students bring in items for area food shelves.  Over the past several years, the students have donated approximately 370 items per year to area food shelves.
